Since 2008, Ventus has built its own portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage assets and has developed projects for leading European energy companies. Our projects show what we stand for: technical excellence, innovation and long-term commitment.

2010
Our first wind turbine, Balchik, Bulgaria
Our journey as an investor began with our first Vestas V90 (2 MW, 105 m hub height) near the town of Balchik.
2013
Expanding in Balchik
A second Vestas V90 (2 MW, 105 m hub height) followed nearby.
2014
A first for Bulgaria
We installed a Vestas V112 (3 MW, 119 m hub height) at the same site, the first V112 in Bulgaria.
2023
Our first solar plant, Candasnos, Spain
Built in 2022 and commissioned in March 2023, our 3.3 MWp PV plant in Candasnos, Aragon, marked our entry into the Spanish solar market.

Hybridising our wind portfolio
We have added CATL battery storage to all three of our Bulgarian wind sites: 4.48 MWh at each 2 MW site and 6.92 MWh at the 3 MW site. This makes them some of the first hybrid wind-and-storage plants in the country.

Next generation: Enercon E-160, Balchik, Bulgaria
Near Balchik, we are currently building the first Enercon E-160 in Bulgaria, a 5 MW turbine fully hybridised with 11.41 MWh of CATL battery storage.

Solar + storage near Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Construction is planned for 2027 of a hybrid project near Plovdiv, combining a 10 MWp solar plant with 45 MWh of battery storage.
2028 · planned
Our largest project: solar + storage in North-Eastern Bulgaria
Planned for construction in 2028, this 40 MWp solar plant with 180 MWh of battery storage will be the largest project in our own portfolio to date.

Solar + storage in Catalonia, Spain
Also planned for 2028 are three hybrid PV + BESS projects in Catalonia with a combined 6 MWp of solar and 24 MWh of battery storage. They build on our experience in Candasnos and bring our hybrid approach to the Spanish market.
